Micro wind turbines are machines that use the wind to create clean and renewable energy for people who don't have access to the electricity grid. Micro wind turbines also help reduce the CO2 in the atmosphere. If we put it as one of our main sources of energy then we would have clean and renewable energy and we could also reduce the CO2 in the atmosphere and make it so we don't use fossil fuels.
Problem and Solution
Problem
Traditional energy sources such as coal, oil, and natural gas emit a large amount carbon in to the atmosphere and therefore warming the planet even more and making a larger carbon footprint. There are also many cities who need more energy to sustain a healthy and safe life style.
Solution
Micro wind turbines reduce carbon. With the current amount of micro wind turbines that we have we can sequester 0.09 - 0.11 Gigatons of carbon dioxide from 2020-2050. It also helps for the people who are less fortunate and need more power without a power grid connected to them.
How it Works
Micro wind turbines are very simple. The idea is that the wind will rotate the blades and it will cause the hub to rotate that is connected to a generator. So the bigger the blades are and the stronger the wind is more energy will be produced. This uses the wind to produce energy not fossil fuels or any other resource. It uses renewable resources to produce more energy for people.
Cost and limitations
Micro wind turbines are cheaper than normal wind turbines. Normal wind turbines are 2-4 million dollars but micro wind turbines are only around 6,000 dollars. This is more cost efficient and healthier to the environment. In addition to the cost efficiency the price is estimated to decrease every decade. It costs 3 cents per kilowatt hour and around $127 per kilowatt as a fixed cost.

In conclusion Micro Wind Turbines are an excellent alternative to fossil fuels, natural gas, and oil. It takes in carbon from the atmosphere and it produces clean energy. It is helpful for people not connected to a power grid. It is a great alternate to other power sources. It is also cheaper than normal wind turbines. It is an amazing alternative for traditional power sources and I think we should convert to Micro Wind Turbines as our main power source.
